Changes at eBay and What You Can Do About It!

There have been two major announcements recently at eBay that will affect you if you are a seller.

 #1: They are changing their affiliate program. The eBay Partner Network will be run owned and operated by eBay, instead of using a third-party provider to handle logistics and payouts. Their claim is that they will build more lasting relationships with thier affiliates. All the changes take place starting April 1st, so you will have to register at this location and will have 30 days to change links on your site.

#2: This change is going to impact thousands of ebay sellers. Basically, eBay announced that as of March 31, digital items must be listed using the Classified Ads format.

There are some lessons to be learned in all this.

• Never rely on one source of income. If you were solely selling digital products on eBay, I’m sure you will panic.
• Don’t rely on one source of traffic or lead generation.

So, you have a few choices as to what to do.

Strategy #1 Classified Ads:
You can go with the flow and make the change and use the new classified ad listing for $9.99 for a 30 day lisitng. Sales with this method would rely heavily on you copywriting skills and being able to close a sale once someone has clicked thru.

Strategy #2 Burn Your Digital Items to a CD:
This one sounds more appealing to me. A soon as you put them onto a CD, you just made them a tangible product and within the eBay guidelines.

Strategy #4 License Commercial CDs/DVDs:

Selling your products on CDs or DVDs will probably be the most profitable.
